I had a decent stay in a budget single room, which was cleaned to a high standard. I faced disturbances due to noise from other guests and issues with the WiFi connection that could be improved. It offers good value for those looking for basic accommodations.

The location was perfect for our family visit with the dog – just a short walk to York parkrun! The room was super clean, and breakfast had plenty of great options. The local pub, Fox and Roman, was also a delightful find for a meal.
In my wife’s opinion, it would be great if the bathroom could be upgraded for better privacy with a functional door.

Great location and friendly staff, but noisy at times
The location next to the racecourse was perfect for my visit, making it easy to get to the city center and local pubs. The friendly staff made me feel welcomed, and the breakfast was a real treat with a great variety of options. I found that the noise from other guests and outside disturbances made it hard to get a good night's sleep.

Some charm with its proximity to various attractions nearby and a competitive price point for the area. The decor has a quirky, rustic charm that adds a little character.
Rooms can feel cramped. a king-size bed only leaves a narrow path to navigate around. Limited electrical outlets force you to place the kettle on the floor to boil water, which feels a bit unsafe. Humidity can be an issue, with windows that don't open for fresh air. Not enough towels for families and minimal coat hangers are offered, making organizing a challenge. The bathroom door's lack of a lock adds an awkward touch to privacy. A lounge area would be appreciated for a more comfortable evening wind-down after a day out.
